Any artwork requests will require require a $100 deposit, this can be done so via venmo, or by dropping off cash in person. This deposit will be NON-REFUNDABLE, but can be used as credit towards your tattoo. How do I prepare for an upcoming appointment?

Always make sure to have a nice meal within 3 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Once you arrive at the shop we will go over the design one final time, once we are satisfied  you'll pay an agreed upon amount (Cash is preferred but credit is accepted) , as well as fill out paperwork providing a valid form of ID (Valid Driver's License, State Identification Card,  Military Identification Card, Passport.). You are welcome to bring anyone to comfort you or be with you during the procedure, but please be mindful to limit the number of people to One (1), this person will also not be allowed in the procedure area. This is to keep the work area free of distractions and clutter. NO food, beverages, or smoking/vaping are allowed once in the work area (water is permitted.). Remember to wear  comfortable clothing for longer sessions, and to dress accordingly for the tattoo placement. Any other questions please contact me at slayjtattoo@gmail.com.

How do I take care of my new tattoo?

Always wash your hands with liquid unscented antibacterial soap and water before touching your new tattoo.

Leave your bandage on for at least 1, but no longer than 3 hours. Or as advised by myself at time of appointment.

After removing your bandage, gently wash the tattoo with antibacterial liquid soap and warm water.Pat dry with a clean paper towel and let air dry for fifteen minutes before applying aftercare. Do this at least twice daily or as needed.

Apply a THIN layer of product (Aquaphor, Vitalitree, Aquatat, Redemption, etc.) and massage in to the skin to the point where it just barely looks moist. DO NOT GOOP ON A PILE OF A & D OINTMENT. I do not recommend A&D ointment, Vaseline, or Neosporin because of the high petroleum content. This will block your skin from breathing which is the most important thing for not only healthy but especially healing skin. It needs to be able to breathe to avoid clogging pores, etc.

Repeat this process for a week or two depending on the how the tattoo looks. It will peel like a sunburn after a few days. (It is totally normal to see colored flakes of skin shedding) If it does scab in a few areas this is nothing to worry about, just let them fall off on their own. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT THEM and do NOT over-saturate in the shower. This could soften them up too much and cause them to come off prematurely which will leave blank spots  that will need touching up.

DURING THE HEALING PROCESS....NO OVER EXPOSURE TO THE SUN, NO SWIMMING POOLS, NO JACUZZIS, NO OCEAN, NO SOAKING OR SUBMERGING IN WATER OF ANY KIND!

Any other questions please contact me at [email protected].

When do i get a touch up?

I usually recommend waiting four to six weeks for a touch up. Touch ups must be done within 3 months of original tattoo date. Touch ups are ONLY scheduled during weekday hours. The touch up appointment is at no cost to the client.
